WASHINGTON — The U.S. Treasury Department has sanctioned former Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding, accusing him of running a violent global drug trafficking network and ordering murders across several countries while hiding in Mexico.
The 44-year-old is on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and is believed to be responsible for the killings of numerous people, including U.S. citizens, according to the Treasury Department report. Officials say he currently oversees a massive cocaine operation.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control also said Wednesday it had sanctioned nine of Wedding's associates and nine related companies.
