ATLANTA — A man is under arrest for killing a 16-year-old who was mistaken for a burglar while entering his home in September.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers with the Zone 3 precinct responded to a person shot in the 400 block of Mulberry Row SE. When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old deceased with gunshot wounds.

While at the scene of the shooting, Atlanta Police Commander Andrew Smith told 11Alive that the teen came through the back door of his home when a resident inside believed that someone was breaking in and opened fire.
At the time, police believed the shooter was the boyfriend of the teen's mom, who left the scene after the shooting.
