Tom Hanks really, really loves the New York City subway system — so much so that he penned a song about it.
The actor enthusiastically crooned a self-penned ditty praising the number 7 train at a gala celebrating The Shed, a non-profit cultural center Tuesday evening.
“I can’t tell you how great it is to be at The Shed every day,” he said in his speech. “Why? Because it is officially the last stop on the 7 train.”
The Oscar winner then sang while snapping his fingers, “The Shed is in the Hudson Yards on the Lower West Side off the High Line. Yeah, The Shed on the Lower West Side off the High Line in Hudson Yards!”
The Toy Story 5 star, 69, continued singing the same refrain, as director Kenny Leon, who was also on stage, quickly picked up the tempo.
