BOWLING GREEN — Holiday happenings will kick off in Bowling Green with Friday’s tree lighting and the parade on Saturday.
The tree lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St. In addition to story time, costumed characters will be available for photos. The tree will be lit at 7 p.m., officials said.
The 100-unit parade steps off Saturday at 9:50 a.m., with the first floats hitting Main and Wooster streets downtown at 10 a.m.
Other Merry & Bright Downtown Bowling Green events include caroling on Main Street and in local businesses from noon to 8 p.m. and visits with Santa from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Millie Venue, 130 S. Main St., both on Dec. 6.
A concert will be held at the Wood County Courthouse, One Courthouse Square, from 3 to 4:30 p.
