NAMPA, Idaho — This story originally appeared in the Idaho Press .
The harsh reality of the Mayors’ Cup series is that even if College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene split the two meetings, only one gets to keep the trophy until next season.
The Yotes held on to the Mayors’ Cup in the first matchup of the 2025-26 season with the Nighthawks last week. Round 2 went back to the home of NNU on Tuesday night , when the Nighthawks soared in the second half.
NNU blitzed College of Idaho on both ends of the court in the second half to win 91-74 at the Johnson Sports Center. The Nighthawks (2-0) posted 57 points in the second half, led by an explosion from redshirt junior guard Easton Reagan. Reagan scored 25 of his game-high 30 points in the second half as the offense opened up.
