NEW YORK – Kur Teng’s debut at Madison Square Garden nearly featured the infamous trillion box score.
The Michigan State guard avoided it only because he was on the floor for just the final 13 seconds, so it was officially a “0+” followed by a dozen zeroes in a win against Rutgers last season.
Less than 10 months later, Teng returned to the Mecca of Basketball and left with a lifetime memory. The sophomore guard scored a career-high 15 points off the bench to help spark the No. 17 Spartans (4-0) to a dominant 83-66 win against No. 12 Kentucky (3-2) on Tuesday in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden .
