COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Voters in parts of Cobb and Fulton counties will choose from six candidates in a state Senate special election race on Tuesday to elect a replacement for the outgoing District 35 state senator who's now running for governor.
State Sen. Jason Esteves had represented the district, which covers areas including the Atlanta Westside, some of South Fulton and College Park, Smyrna, Vinings and Mableton.
Here are the six candidates vying to fill the seat. With this many candidates on the ballot, it's possible none will reach the 50% + 1 vote majority threshold -- the top two vote-getters would go to a runoff on December 16.
A sample ballot can be found here , Fulton County's precincts covered by the district are here and Cobb County's are here .
