A Christmas tree raffle helping mental health and suicide prevention efforts in Sarnia-Lambton is growing again.

Tamara’s Trees of Hope started in 2023 as a six-tree raffle.

Last year there were eight decorated and sponsored trees, each with themed gifts for winning ticketholders.

This year’s raffle, kicking off Saturday, has 11 trees, said Lori Lumley, who founded charity Talk for Tamara years ago in memory of her daughter, who was 17 when she took her own life in 2018.

The number of sponsors is up this year, to about 40, meaning more trees, Lumley said. The total prize board is $21,500, up from $13,600 in 2024.

Different trees feature different themes and gifts, she said..

One, for instance, includes a four-burner barbecue, beef, gift cards and a Harley Davidson
