CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - An inmate at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston, Missouri died over the weekend.
According to the Missouri Department of Corrections, 68-year-old inmate Robert Evans was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Mo. at 2:07 a.m. on Sunday, November 16.
An autopsy will be conducted at a later date.
Evans was serving two life sentences for:
One count of first-degree robbery from Platte County
One count of first-degree robbery from Clay County
30 years for two counts of second-degree robbery from Clay County
50 years for armed criminal action from Clay County.
His sentences were consecutive to each other and consecutive to life sentences.
Evans was incarcerated on May 11, 1998.
