CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A Cape Girardeau man could spend nearly a century behind bars after a jury found him guilty of child sex crimes on Tuesday.
According to the Office of Prosecuting Attorney Mark J. Welker, a Cape Girardeau County jury returned guilty verdicts against 44-year-old Brandon Demarcus Tipler on November 18 for two counts of first-degree statutory rape and one count of first-degree statutory sodomy.
The case was tried in a two-day jury trial with Circuit Judge Frank E. Miller presiding.
Tipler’s sentencing is set for December 23. He is facing a maximum of 90 years in the Department of Corrections.
