Paul Mescal — the male protagonist here — did not attend this premiere. I was going to theorize that he was busy filming Merrily We Roll Along and then I realized although they’re filming that movie for TWENTY YEARS, literally, so he definitely has some flexibility as far as that one goes. (BEN PLATT is playing the role Daniel Radcliffe had in the most recent Broadway production and honestly…I guess good for Ben Platt for locking in a longterm gig? Listen, I’m being a jerkwad here because Ben Platt can obviously sing but he does not work for me as a cinematic performer. I’m excited to complain about this sporadically for the next few decades, god willing.) So I don’t know where he was! Maybe he just didn’t walk the red carpet? Maybe his flights in were delayed due to our recent storms.
