Amanda Seyfried already has an idea of how to bring Sabrina Carpenter and Sydney Sweeney into the Mamma Mia 3 storyline.

Although a sequel to the jukebox musical has not been officially greenlit, Seyfried is hopeful that it will happen and has proposed that Carpenter and Sweeney join the cast.

“Maybe I’m just naive, but I’m pretty sure Mamma Mia 3 is a done deal,” Seyfried told Entertainment Tonight at the Governors Awards.

Mamma Mia! was released in 2008, the film directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Catherine Johnson, is based on her book from the 1999 musical of the same name. A sequel to the movie released in 2018 was a prequel and Seyfried thinks the third film should focus on her character Sophie as a mother.
