FAIRVIEW, W.Va. — Three miners were hurt in a collision at the Loveridge Coal Mine in Fairview Wednesday morning.

Reports indicate two pieces of machinery collided at 9:42 this morning injuring three miners, two are being treated at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The miners were transported with unspecified injuries by the Marion County Rescue Squad.

The incident comes less than a week after the body of mine foreman Steve Lipscomb was pulled from the Rolling Thunder Mine in Nicholas County.

American Consolidated Natural Resources, Inc., which operates the Metz Portal, Miracle Run Portal, Sugar Run Preparation Plant and has not responded to a request for comment.
