Happy Valley Casino, the future gaming facility set to open near Penn State University, received approval on Wednesday from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to operate slot machines and table games as it moves toward its anticipated spring opening.
Eric Pearson, CEO of SC Gaming, owner of Happy Valley Casino, gave an update on the project at a Gaming Control Board hearing in Harrisburg Wednesday morning.
The mini-casino is expected to open in April at the Nittany Mall, 2877 E. College Ave. in College Township, just outside State College. The location is just a few miles from Beaver Stadium.
