A 20-year-old woman died over the weekend after a car hit her head-on into her as she crossed Route 322 in Lancaster County, police said.
The driver of a Hyundai Sonata hit Ava M. Turczynski, of Ephrata, just after 7 p.m. Friday while she was walking across Route 322 west in Elizabeth Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Turczynski was thrown about 36 feet away from where she was struck and suffered extreme injuries, police said.
Police said she was taken to Lancaster General Hospital and placed in comfort care, surrounded by her family. LancasterOnline reported she died the next day.
