Happy Valley Casino, the future gaming facility near Penn State University, will open a new dealer school next month.
The mini-casino is expected to open in April at the Nittany Mall at 2877 E. College Ave. in College Township, Centre County, just outside of State College. The location is just a few miles from Beaver Stadium.
But, before any cards are shuffled or dealt, and any chips are doled out, the casino plans to train around 150 people at its dealer school.
The dealer school is free, and attendees will receive $15 an hour during training.
The 12-week program has two start dates: December 15 and January 5. There will be 20 hours of training per week.
The school will provide hands-on training in Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and Baccarat, as well as other games.
