U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., was the only member of the House of Representatives to vote against a bill forcing the Department of Justice to release files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The House voted 427-1 on the bill on Nov. 18, with the Senate approving its passage via unanimous consent the same day. The bill now awaits President Donald Trump’s signature.
For months, Trump called the controversy a “hoax” and even lashed out at some of his party members. Last week, the president pressured Republicans not to vote on the bill.
On Sunday, Trump reversed course, calling on Republicans to vote in favor of the legislation.
