STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Strongsville officials say a barricade situation on Gary Drive has been resolved and all impacted residents are cleared to return home.
According to police, a male was taken into custody and undergoing a mental health evaluation at Southwest General in Middleburgh Heights.
This comes after authorities had been on scene for several hours on Wednesday morning responding to a barricade situation that prompted police to urge residents to "remain indoors and in their basement if possible."
According to a release from the Strongsville Police Department, officers responded to a home in the 13400 block of Gary Drive at 5:18 a.m. for a report of a 26-year-old man "who was having a mental health crisis."
A caller told police that the man was in possession of a handgun.
