DENVER — A special fall season for East Lincoln High athletics may still have one more chapter left to write.
The Mustang boys soccer team earned its place in Saturday’s NCHSAA 5A state final, earning a 2-0 victory over Enka in Tuesday’s 5A West title match. It will play Western Alamance in Saturday’s state final at Guilford College in Greensboro. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.
It is East Lincoln’s second berth in a state final, its previous trip in 2019. The program is seeking its first state championship. It also hopes to join a gold rush which has netted Mustang girls golf and tennis squads individual and/or team state titles.
