SEATTLE, Wash. -- Coming off their fourth trip to the American League Championship Series, the Seattle Mariners are preparing for a season long 50th anniversary celebration.

The celebration will culminate with the 50 Seasons Celebration Weekend August 7-9 at T-Mobile Park.

The celebration kicks off with Kingdome Fanny Pack Hat Night on April 17.

The team will wear a "50 Seasons" patch on their jerseys. While one of the Mariners' favorite slogans is "Tridents Up" the 50th anniversary logo does not include the trident which was on the 1977 team's cap and formed the "M" in Mariners on their jersey.

The first starting pitcher for the Mariners in 1977 was Diego Segui. He is the only player to play for both of Seattle's major league teams, first with the Pilots in 1969 and then the Mariners
