West Ocala store loses bid to sell beer, wine, liquor

Usually, when businesses petition local governments for permission to sell booze at an establishment, the request is approved without much fanfare.

Not this time.

The Ocala City Council on Nov. 18 unanimously denied Spot On Liquor's request for a permit to sell beer, liquor and wine at its store location, 1500 W. Silver Springs Blvd.
