The holiday season is about to shine a little brighter in Frederick as “Sailing Through the Winter Solstice” returns to Carroll Creek on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 8:00p.m.
The annual lighted boat display, now a beloved winter tradition, runs from mid-November through the second Saturday in March, transforming the waterway into a sparkling sea of color and creativity.
This year’s fleet features 26 illuminated boats and one land-locked “land shark,” each designed and decorated by local organizations and volunteers.
The display stretches between Market Street and Carroll Street, where visitors can stroll along the water and take in dazzling scenes of pirate ships, three-masted schooners, gaff-rigged ketches, and yawls, all outlined in brilliant lights from dusk until dawn.
“It’s truly amazing
