Veteran local architect and MZA Architecture & Interiors founder Manuel Zeitlin has announced he will retire at year’s end.

According to a release, Zeitlin — who launched his eponymously named company in 1981 as Manuel Zeitlin Architects — will continue to collaborate with the Wedgewood-Houston-based design firm on select projects.

MZA Architecture & Interiors has been involved in the designs of numerous local buildings, with the company’s work having included Cummins Station, Pinewood Social, Valor Collegiate Academies, Oasis Center, Abe’s Garden, The Chelsea, Mercury View Lofts, Terrazzo and Tennessee Realtors, among others. The MZA aesthetic is recognized for its modernist and contemporary approach.
