WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who is accused of multiple crimes, including attempted second-degree murder.
OPSO arrested Dennis Wright on Nov. 19. Wright is accused of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, domestic abuse battery (child endangerment), and domestic abuse battery (strangulation).
According to a warrant, the West Monroe Police Department responded to a shooting on Drew Ave. on Sept. 24. WMPD said Wright was not at the scene when they got there.
WMPD said the victim told them that she was in a fight with Wright earlier that evening, and he allegedly placed his hands around her neck and threatened to knock her out. The victim told police that her children were there during the fight.
