The New York Mets have made it very clear they are looking to add to their starting rotation this winter. Pitching was singlehandedly the reason why the team missed the playoffs this year, and David Stearns isn't going to make that same mistake again.
One player the organization has kept its eyes on is Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta, who is set to make just $8 million next season. Given that price is well below market value and Peralta's elite talent, the Mets were reportedly interested in trying to add him to their rotation.
Now, that pursuit could hit a road block after the Brewers provided some clarification after Brandon Woodruff accepted his qualifying offer.
