OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - The Bridge View Center could face a financial setback as venue leaders project a bigger deficit next year.
Venue leaders told Ottumwa city council members in early November that the center is projected to have a budget shortfall.
“We’re projecting about a $50,000-$55,000 behind budget than where currently at today,” said executive director Scott Hallgren.
The center’s long-term goal is to build up reserves to cover the years that revenue falls short.
“So, we’re looking at the long game so that in some years we can then bank the reserves to certainly help those years where it’s a little bit down,” Hallgren said.
The plan also includes adding a role to help meet budget goals.
