SAGINAW, MI — A St. Charles mother and her minor son have filed a lawsuit against the local school district, alleging it let a teacher and coach harass them at length.

“This is really bad,” said attorney Victor J. Mastromarco Jr., representing the plaintiffs. “They’ve lost touch with reality and instead are focusing on their sports teams.”

Mastromarco and fellow lawyer Kevin J. Kelly filed suit Sept. 26 in U.S. District Court on behalf of a St. Charles woman, whom MLive is not naming. The suit names St. Charles Community Schools and special education teacher Aaron R. Hemgesberg as defendants. Hemgesberg also coached junior varsity football during the 2024-25 school year.
