OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - An Oakland County school district issued a shelter-in-place order on Wednesday as immigration agents conducted a nearby search for alleged gang members.
Clarkston Community Schools issued a shelter-in-place order as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents searched for two suspects near Pine Knob Elementary School.
Oakland County officials say the two suspects fled from ICE on foot.
The suspects were not found.
“We immediately deployed resources to protect the students, staff and surrounding community, and to assist in the search for the suspects,” Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Stephen W. Huber said.
