City plans to rebuild part of Secor Road in the Westgate area have been put on hold pending a new safety study and new planning for changes all the way to Dorr Street, the Toledo Department of Transportation announced Wednesday afternoon.

Elimination of left turns from the Westgate Village Shopping Center onto northbound Secor will still occur in the spring with installation of a barrier, the city announced.

The transportation department’s statement said it had decided “after much deliberation and consideration of the community’s needs” to “pause” Secor’s reconstruction between Central Avenue and Kenwood Boulevard that had been slated for next year.
