The city of Pasadena Tuesday, Nov. 18, announced that applications are open for local businesses to apply for up to a $20,000 grant as part of a Commercial Façade Improvement Program.

Applications will be open until Sunday, Nov. 30. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Community Development Block Grant program.

About 10 businesses in the CDBG-eligible areas in the city are expected to benefit, according to a city news release. Eligible expenses include new or replacement signage and awnings, painting or surface treatments and installation or replacement of exterior doors.

Businesses can also upgrade outdoor lighting, add or replace decorative or security fencing and replace or re-glaze plate glass windows. Funding is provided to busin
