Fresno man sentenced to prison for sexual exploitation of a child

A Fresno man will spend the next four decades behind bars for sexual exploitation of a child and distribution of child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced that Monico Erich Gastelo, 44, was sentenced this week to 40 years in prison.

Driving the news: Gastelo created a social media account in January 2019 and pretended to be an 18-year-old boy. He used the account to talk to younger individuals and to request sexually explicit content from them. • From January 2020 to March 2020, Gastelo used Wickr, Snapchat and Telegram to talk to other people who are sexually attracted to children. He sent and received multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse material, and forensic review of his phones revealed that he had more than 1,500 images and videos of suspected child sexual
