WESTPORT, Wash. — The U.S. Coast Guard says a crabbing boat crew helped save four people on a fishing vessel in the Pacific Ocean Monday morning.
According to the Coast Guard, the crew of the Abby C. called for help around 8 a.m., saying their vessel was sinking. The crew aboard a different boat, the Lady Nancy, was a couple of miles from the spot identified by the call, and "made a beeline" to that area, according to Lady Nancy's co-owner Marcus Cole.
"You just hope that, you know, if it was us, that somebody would pick us up," Cole said.
The Lady Nancy crew conducted a grid search for approximately 20 minutes before spotting an orange life raft.
Cole said they discovered four men — two in a raft and two clinging to a survival suit — all suffering from hypothermia in the cold Pacific
