ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia drivers with State Farm insurance have seen “major rate reductions” over the last year thanks to the work of state officials, according to Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King.

King’s office announced Wednesday that State Farm customers in Georgia have had their rates reduced by an average of more than 10% over the past year as a result of negotiations between his office and the company.

Most recently, customers had their rates lowered by 3% after King approved the insurer’s latest rate filing, bringing the total reductions to more than 10%, his office said.
