On Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. a beach hazards statement was released by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 4 a.m. until Monday 4 a.m. for Clatsop County Coast, Tillamook County Coast and Central Coast of Oregon.
"Sneaker waves possible," explains the weather service. "A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when sneaker waves create potentially life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution should be used when in or near the water. Always keep an eye on the waves, and be especially watchful of children. Those participating in razor clam digs should exercise caution."
