Portland-area law enforcement agencies will start working together to identify and bring down burglary rings , officials said this week.
The “burglary task force” will include the Gresham, Portland and Port of Portland police departments, TriMet, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives, officers and investigators from the agencies will meet regularly to share information and coordinate investigations, District Attorney Nathan Vasquez said at a news conference Wednesday.
“My office and these agencies are committed to protecting the economic vitality and safety of Portland,” Vasquez said. “This task force is really representing a step forward in that effort.”
