A coastal weather system will brush the Portland area Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, bringing light precipitation.
Rain amounts will be minimal, generally between 0.05 and 0.15 inches for the Willamette Valley. Winds will turn calmer overnight, after the Portland area saw gusts of up to 25 mph earlier Wednesday.
Scattered showers are expected throughout Thursday, with the skies clearing by the evening. Temperatures then will drop significantly Thursday night, with inland areas potentially falling into the mid to upper 30s. There’s a 20%-45% chance rural areas in the Willamette Valley could see near-freezing temperatures.
