A man was taken to an out-of-region hospital after a collision involving a transport truck and a car in Niagara Falls late Wednesday morning.

At 11:15 a.m., Niagara Regional Police were called to Lyons Creek Road just east of Rexinger Road.

Ornge air helicopter transported a man to a trauma centre for injuries that were later determined not to be life-threatening.

The crash caused the truck’s fuel tank to be dislodged.

Police closed Lyons Creek Road between Stanley Avenue and Beck Road and Rexinger Road between Dell Drive and Lyons Creek Road.

Police said the roads would be closed for some time while crews cleaned up the spilled fuel.
