Described as a “perfect development in a perfect location,” two apartment buildings on a busy stretch of Portage Road will get significant improvements after Niagara Falls city council approved a developer’s proposal to increase heights and the number of units.
An applicant’s plan to construct additions on each of the existing two-and-a-half storey apartment buildings at 3777, 3787, 3791-3815 Portage Rd. and 3828 St. Peter Ave. was unanimously approved by councillors Tuesday.
The project is in the Stamford Centre area near Thorold Stone Road.
“As someone who grew up in Stamford Centre, the churches are right there, the beer store, the liquor store, the grocery store and the bank, the drugstore, the doctors — there’s no reason to go anywhere else,” said Mayor Jim Diodati.
