LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A South Carolina State Trooper hurt after a September crash in Lexington County is looking to take those he feels are responsible to court.
Records show Master Trooper Wayne LaBounty filed a lawsuit on Nov. 14 against the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Jerrod Ricks and his employer, as well as a third driver.
Ricks is already facing charges in connection with the crash that left LaBounty seriously injured on Sept. 9, but LaBounty’s lawsuit claims “negligent decisions” of those parties involved also contributed to the wreck.
It also claims LaBounty suffered “catastrophic, life-altering injuries that have permanently impacted his health, his ability to work, and his quality of life.”
