NEW YORK — Gilmer native and New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is expected to recover well after being shot early Sunday morning.
In a news conference Wednesday, Jets coach Aaron Glenn said he has spoken to Boyd and he is in good spirits.
"I'm happy of the fact that he's going to come out of this thing really, really well," Glenn said.
A spokesperson for the New York Police Department confirmed Boyd is now in stable condition. No arrests have been made yet.
Glenn also said the first thing that came to his mind when he heard of the shooting was Boyd's wife and child and making sure Boyd was OK.
Boyd was in the abdomen around 2 a.m. in front of 156 West 38 Street, in the confines of the Midtown South Precinct, according to police. Officials have said the shooting was the result of an a
