GREGG COUNTY, Texas — The son of the late Commissioner Danny E. Craig Sr. of Gregg County Pct. 4 has announced his run to fill his father's position.

Constable Danny E. Craig II announced his candidacy for the commissioner position on social media Wednesday. He was sworn in Nov. 6 to fill his father's seat on the Gregg County Commissioners Court intermittently.

"Serving the people of Precinct 4 has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Craig said. "Every day in this position, I am committed to leading with integrity, listening with intention, and working tirelessly to make decisions that strengthen our community. Gregg County is my home, and I am dedicated to ensuring that every resident feels seen, valued, and represented."
