KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A record-setting season for Kansas City Current goalkeeper Lorena has resulted in another award for the club.
Lorena was named the 2025 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year at the inaugural NWSL awards Wednesday in San Jose, California.
The first-year Current goalkeeper helped the organization set NWSL records for clean sheets (16), consecutive shutout minutes (869), consecutive shutouts (9) and home shutouts (8).
Thanks in large part to her stellar goalkeeping, Lorena and the Current allowed just 13 goals during the regular season. That set another NWSL record in a season of them for the Current.
