ILLINOIS ( 25News Now ) - With the announcement and launch of digital IDs in one’s Apple Wallet, the Illinois Liquor Control Commission is promoting the new technology to businesses to confirm a person’s age.
The commission said that under Illinois law, a Mobile ID is an acceptable form of identification which can be used by someone to prove that they’re 21-years-old or older, just like a physical driver’s license or identification card.
With Wednesday’s release of the ability to add one’s driver’s license or state ID to their Apple Wallet, the state has also released a free app for iPhones that allows businesses to scan digital IDs.
