The Calgary man once labelled as a drug kingpin with ties to Mexican drug cartels has been arrested in a major U.S. bust linked to a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder and the murder of a witness in Colombia.
Court records show Allistair Chapman appeared in Calgary Court of King’s Bench on Tuesday and had his extradition application by the U.S. adjourned to Friday.
Among the charges Chapman is wanted on in the States listed in a provisional arrest warrant are conspiracy to export cocaine and murder, in connection with a continuing criminal enterprise and drug crime.

Defence counsel Chad Haggerty, who appeared with Chapman before Justice Shane Parker, declined to comment on the case.
