MILO, Maine (WABI) - Thursday is WABI’s Turkey Telethon. We help food pantries and cupboards in the region get enough turkeys for each family in need through Penquis.

Dyer’s Hope House in Milo is one of those pantries. They say they’re seeing 35% more people this year on a monthly basis than last year.

General Manager John Cram says they’re seeing more people coming from farther away. Dyer’s is run by devoted volunteers and Cram says they work with Good Shepherd Food Bank and take in donations to help their roughly 140 clients per month.

He says they’ve had even more families sign up for Thanksgiving meals this year and best way to help them with Thanksgiving is to give back through Penquis during our telethon or through Free the Z.
