BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Bangor Police say a man was arrested after assaulting a woman and a child Wednesday.

Police say they responded to a 911 call shortly after 5am from a person saying they could hear a woman yelling for help at a nearby residence.

28-year-old Jesse Ramsdell was arrested after an officer arrived and said he saw Ramsdell assaulting a woman.

During the investigation, officials determined the victim had been choked, restrained, and a child in the home had also been assaulted.

Ramsdell is charged with domestic violence assault, criminal mischief, and criminal restraint.

He’s being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
