A barricaded suspect was arrested after hours of negotiations and accused of trying to break into an apartment in Mountain View, the police department said.

Mountain View police said officers arrested 22-year-old Jose Luis Valencia Sanchez after he barricaded himself for hours.

On Tuesday at around 12:30 a.m., police said they received a call from a person reporting that a suspect was attempting to break into their apartment on El Monte Avenue through a shared wall.

The victims did not know the suspect before the incident, according to officials.
