University Heights City Council will accept resume and letters of interest beginning Dec. 1 for those seeking to fill the vacancy left after current councilmember and vice mayor Michele Weiss was elected mayor of the city.
The seat will become vacant on Jan. 1, 2026, when Weiss will be sworn in. City charter gives council 30 days to fill the vacancy after that date, otherwise Weiss would be responsible for making an appointment.
University Heights residents can send letters of interest and resumes to City Hall, c/o Clerk of Council Kelly M. Thomas, 2300 Warrensville Center Road, University Heights, OH 44118. They can also email those documents to kthomas@universityheights.com . Letters of interest and resumes will be accepted until noon Dec. 29.
