An 82-year-old mayor of a Pennsylvania borough has been charged with drunken driving and fleeing from a crash earlier this month.
Charles Petrosky, the mayor of Perryopolis in Fayette County, was charged with driving under the influence, damaging an attended vehicle, failing to give information or render aid, careless driving, reckless driving and following too closely, online court records show.
According to the Uniontown Herald-Standard and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review , Petrosky’s blood-alcohol level was 0.139%, nearly double the 0.08% state limit.
State police said Petrosky’s car rear-ended another vehicle at about 6:20 p.m. Nov. 4, which was Election Day. Petrosky, a Republican, won the race for mayor.
