MEDINA, Ohio -- “Interpretations,” a new art show at the B. Smith Gallery of the Medina Library, 210 S. Broadway St., is open to the public during regular library hours now until Dec. 7.
A group of Cuyahoga Valley Area Plein Air Painters explore the question: “Do all artists see things the same? Or does their emotional connection to a landscape affect their interpretation?”
A group statement reads, “It is always amazing when a small group of artists come to a location to paint, and each one is inspired to paint something different.
“We do not feel we need to copy what we see as in a photograph, but we interpret what we see by playing with colors and modifying objects to make a painting with a good composition that satisfies the viewer.”
